Total Clean NY
Cleaner spaces. Healthier lives.
Our own vans, our own crew
The van outside is ours. So is the technician.
No subcontractors, no lead-selling apps, no rotating strangers. The same technicians work the same neighborhoods, in uniform, in a van with our name on the side. The same faces each visit, and a number that reaches the people who did the work.
What we clean
Four things we do, and do properly

Carpet cleaning
Professional steam cleaning — hot-water extraction that pulls ground-in dirt, traffic lanes and pet stains out of the fibre, not just off the surface.

Why local matters
A cleaning company you can actually call back
National booking apps sell your job to whoever is nearest. We're the people who answer the phone, the people who show up, and the people who come back if something isn't right.
- The same technicians serve the same neighborhoods, so they know your buildings and your parking.
- One price, quoted upfront, with add-ons approved by you before we start.
- Certificates of insurance sent to your co-op or managing agent on request.
- If the same stain comes back, call within 14 days and we come back at no charge.
Booked in three minutes
- Tell us the rooms, fabric or number of vents.
- We give you a flat price on the call.
- Pick a window — mornings, evenings or Saturday.
- Pay when the work is done and you've checked it.

Why people book us
The things that go wrong, and how we stop them
Most complaints about cleaning companies come down to four things: a price that moves, a technician nobody vetted, carpet left soaking, and damage nobody admits to. Here is how each one is handled before it happens.
The price is fixed before we start
You get a flat number on the phone, and it is the number on the invoice. Add-ons are quoted and approved by you first — never discovered halfway through and added at the end.
The same crews, every time
Our technicians are employed, background-checked and in uniform. We do not sell your job to a lead app or hand it to a subcontractor you have never heard of.
Your building's paperwork, handled
Certificates of insurance naming your corporation and managing agent, sent before the appointment. Service entrances, elevator reservations and restricted hours are routine for us, not a surprise on the day.
We tell you when cleaning will not fix it
Permanent dye damage, worn-out pile, urine in the pad, a rug better suited to a restorer — you hear it during the walkthrough, before you have paid for anything.
Nothing is left soaking
Over-wetting is what causes shrinkage, delamination and that musty smell a week later. We extract properly and set up airflow before we leave, so carpet is damp-dry in a few hours.
If it comes back, we come back
Tell the technician before they pack up and they'll re-treat it on the spot. If the same stain comes back call within 14 days and we come back at no charge.

The process
How a visit runs
Walkthrough
Your technician looks at every area with you, flags what will and won't come out, and confirms the price.
Prep & protect
Furniture moved where safe, corners guarded, entryways covered. Small items you clear, heavy pieces we handle.
Steam clean
Pre-treatment, agitation, then hot-water extraction at a temperature and suction no home machine reaches.
Final check
We walk it with you before packing up, set airflow for fast drying, and email your itemised receipt.
Method matters
Why the equipment matters more than the soap
Every carpet cleaner uses similar chemistry. The difference in results comes from heat, suction and whether the detergent gets rinsed back out of the fibre.
| Rented machine | Discount cleaner | Our steam clean | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water temperature | Tap warm | Around 120°F | Up to 210°F at the wand |
| Extraction strength | Household level | Moderate | Professional-grade |
| Drying time | 1–2 days, often damp | 6–12 hours | 3–6 hours |
| Detergent left behind | Usually yes — re-soils fast | Some | Rinsed out, no residue |
| Pet urine in the pad | Not reachable | Surface only | Sub-surface flood & extract |
| Who does the work | You do | Whoever the app sent | Trained technician, our own crew |

Local pageBefore we arrive
Ten minutes of prep saves you money
None of this is required — but a clear floor means the crew works faster, and a faster job is a cheaper job when there are add-ons involved.
- Pick up toys, cables, shoes and anything fragile from the floor.
- Tell us about pet accidents in advance so the right treatment is loaded before we arrive.
- Point out spots you care about most — we prioritise them.
- Reserve the service elevator if your building requires it.
- Plan to keep pets in one room while the hoses are running.
Our promise
- Tell the technician before they pack up and they'll re-treat it on the spot. If the same stain comes back call within 14 days and we come back at no charge.
- The price we quote on the phone is the price on the invoice.
- Anything we can't fix, we tell you before we take payment.
- Licensed, insured, and background-checked technicians only.

Straight answers
Questions we get every day
How much does carpet cleaning cost in New York?
We charge by the room — $29 each, three-room minimum — not by the hour, and the price is fixed on the phone before we book. Stairs, area rugs and heavy pet treatment are separate line items so nothing is a surprise on the day.
How soon can you come out?
Most weeks we have same-week openings, including Saturdays. Call before noon and we can often get a crew to you the next morning. Emergency water or odour jobs move to the front of the queue.
Do you actually show up in the window you give me?
We run our own vans and our own technicians — no subcontractors. You get a two-hour arrival window and a call from your technician when they're on the way.
Are your cleaning solutions safe for kids and pets?
Yes. Our standard carpet, rug and upholstery solutions are non-toxic and fragrance-light, and everything is rinsed and extracted out. Once the fibres are dry the room is ready for crawling babies and sleeping dogs.
How long does everything take to dry?
Carpet is damp-dry in 3 to 6 hours and fully dry within 24. Upholstery is usually quicker. We leave air movers running on request and set up airflow before we go.
Do you clean apartments and co-ops with building rules?
Constantly. We carry a certificate of insurance for your building, use service entrances and elevators as required, and can send the COI directly to your management company before the appointment.
Do you charge extra for stairs, hallways or closets?
Stairs are $35 a flight because they take real time. Hallways and walk-in closets are included with an adjoining room rather than billed separately.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
Tell the technician before they pack up and they'll re-treat it on the spot. If the same stain comes back call within 14 days and we come back at no charge.
What payment do you take?
Card, tap-to-pay, cash or Zelle, paid on completion once you've looked over the work. You get an itemised receipt by email the same day.
Do you clean offices and commercial spaces?
Yes — offices, showrooms, restaurants and short-term rentals, usually outside business hours. Commercial work is quoted per square foot after a quick site visit or a floor plan.
